Framework 05

Systems, Not Silos

The most important work may sit between organizations rather than inside any one of them.

The idea

A collection of successful organizations does not automatically create a healthy ecosystem.

Each organization can optimize its own programs while families, participants, or communities still encounter fragmentation between them. Systems, Not Silos changes the unit of analysis.

  1. Map the full participant experience, not the organizational chart.
  2. Locate barriers that sit between organizations.
  3. Coordinate only where shared action creates distinct value.
  4. Measure the health of the landscape, not the size of the coordinator.
Emergence

Observed in practice.
